Blog's Purpose

Welcome everyone! Glad you could stop in and take a look around. I'm hoping you will find several interesting things here. I decided to start a blog so I could share all the awesome information I've found or that's been sent to me about Fiber Arts. The internet has been a wonderful tool for me, I'm a Google fanatic as much as I am a Spinatic! :)

Tour De Fleece is on!!

What a great way to start a long weekend, a reason to spin, spin, spin!  Wishing I had my new (used but new to me) spinning wheel to be able to produce more but Spinky will do just fine.  My little work horse will keep on and on as long as I can flick her to spin.

Tour De Fleece on Ravelry is a spin-along during the Tour de France. The concept is simple, They spin, we spin. A real spinning themed spin-along. I've created a page for my progress so you can check it out if you like. (Tour De Fleece)

I've been off of work due to some back problems so I've been working on some knitting and spinning.  Not much else I can do when I'm confined to my recliner.  So between sleeping, knitting, and spinning I've actually kept myself active with projects.  TDF will be a great project as well.  Knowing my goal is to spin a total of 8oz of fiber will keep me spinning daily.  That doesn't sound like alot but when you're doing it on a support spindle and not a spinning wheel, it's a fair amount.

One of my knitting projects is a simple shawl.  Since it's my first one I wanted it to be an easy one and so for my free pattern on this post I'll share it with you.  It's called the Skinny Ruffles Shawlette by Lindon Down and it's really simple.  I'm actually enjoying seeing how fast I can progress on it so for a beginning knitter like myself this one was perfect!!  Happy knitting!! And Spinning of course!!
